The Old World is a common name for wines arriving from countries with a long tradition of wine production. France, Spain, and Italy produce quality wines for centuries past and are regarded as leaders in their field. At the same time you can today find fruity and flattering Euopean wines which are much more suited to the style characterised by New World wines.
On the other hand, "New World" producers like the USA, South Africa, countries in South America and even Israel often produce elegant wines which can be easily mistaken as old world wines.
In this open house we will try to answer the question: is the Old World a geographic area or perhaps a wine making style?
Israeli wines coming from the so called Young Old world are of a short legacy but have a prolonged history. We shall taste Israeli wines that best depict the Old World style along with unflattering scents of forest floor, a bit of mold, ripe cheese, barnyards and horse stalls.
The wine list shall be published later on.
