Greened vineyards amongst sloping hills and all of this close by the center of the country? Grape Man organizes an experiential vineyard and winery tour through the Judean Foothils.
We shall begin our day at the Grape Man home, for a steaming morning cup of coffee, natural juice, and fresh pastry that has just arrived from the bakery. Equipped with a "lunch box" containing a sandwich for the road, we shall enter the luxurious Wi-Fi included tour bus.
During our ride the Grape Man steward shall offer bubbly wines.
We shall start our ride south east on the way to the appreciated Barkan Winery, which has recently become the largest Israeli winery. Barkan Winery is situated in Kibbutz Hulda right next to the largest vineyard in Israel, in a verdant area abundant with vineyards. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the modern winery and especially its visitor's center – the largest, modern and most impressive in Israel.
We shall start with a tour of the largest vineyard in Israel and from there continue for a guided tour in the winery's depths, from the fantastic cellar to the bottling line – the leading of its kind in the country. The visit will be guided by one of the winery's talented winemakers.
We shall continue our tour to a winery which in the past years has grasped a place of honor in the Israeli wine scene, the Ella Valley Winery which expresses an exceptional partnership between vineyard and winery. The Ella Valley Winery is located in the eponymous valley, adjacent to Kibbutz Nativ Ha Lamed-Heh, an area in which wine grapes grow since ancient times.
The varied growing areas, topographical conditions and excellent climate, provide a perfect habitat for quality wine grape growing, justly regarded as some of the most groomed vineyards in the country.
We shall enjoy tasting the best of the winery's wines, and of course leave enough time for the visitor's center for wine purchasing. At the end of the winery visit we shall go for a short tour through the vineyards from which the wines we tasted are produced.
Wine shocked but satisfied, we shall depart to the Abu Gosh area, where we shall dine on an Israeli lunch with numerous salads and hor d'oeuvres, a choice of meats and cooked dishes. To conclude the meal we shan't concede sweets and a hot cup of coffee.
After the rich meal we shall make our way back down to Jaffa, tired but contented.
