The first winery founded in the Golan Heights has led Israel's quality wine scene since its establishment in 1983. All wines show consistency, excellence and persistent striving for quality. The winery's Yarden brand is identified worldwide with top quality Israeli wines and constantly wins prestigious awards and medals around the world. The winery is owned by four kibbutzim and four moshavim. 96% of the vineyards are planted in the Golan on a 65 km strip with an altitude ranging from 400 meters in the south up to 1,200 meters besides the Hermon Mountain in the north. Veteran chief vintner Victor Schoenfeld deeply believes in wine's sense of place. Ramat HaGolan winery thus leads in mapping and cataloging Israel's vineyards and in terroir research. The Winery has been implementing the sustainability approach for years, undertaking issues of nature, community and environment in the north of the country and particularly in the Golan Heights.
