The place where faith overcame might, where simplicity defeated abundance, where a slim youth could win a victory over a large and seasoned warrior, the symbolic location where David fought Goliath, is where we chose to grow our wine. 

OUR VISION
Five Stones Vineyards was established to produce unique, innovative and inspirational wines saturated with the values and perceptions that took root in us as wine experts over the years. Respect for the land, humility towards nature, love for the vine, passion for wine and professional excellence. 

THE HISTORY
“Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and they were gathered together at Sokhoh, which belonged to Judah, and set up camp between Sokhoh and Azekah, in Ephes-Damim. And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and set up camp in the Elah Valley, and prepared for the battle against the Philistines. And the Philistines stood on the mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on the mountain on the other side; and there was a valley between them.”

(Samuel 1, 17:1-3)

Five Stones Vineyards is located in Tel Azekah in the Elah Valley, in the region of the mythological battle between David and Goliath in 1010 BCE. The Elah Valley is at an important crossroad between the coastal plains and Jerusalem and Bethlehem, and due to its geographical and agricultural advantages it was already populated in Israel’s tribal period. The valley is long and narrow with fertile soil and a high precipitation level, which together create an ideal habitat for growing quality vines. Expansive green spaces, a diverse abundance of wild flowers, the surrounding forests and impressive archeological sites makes the Elah Valley one of the most beautiful nature venues in Israel.

OUR VINEYARDS
The winery’s top quality grapes are grown in old established vineyards on the abundantly breezy peaks of the Elah Valley. Its unique temperature and fertile alluvial soil form a perfect natural bed for old vines that yield particularly intense fruit.

The location of the unique vineyard was chosen to meet the requirements of the vines and for its terroir, with the same precision, creativity and wisdom used by David when choosing his weapon – the one that transformed his “minor” skill into his biggest advantage.
