It was 1827 when Avraham Teperberg escaped Odessa for Austria, where he first learned about wine growing and production. The family later immigrated to Israel and settled in the Old City of Jerusalem. The winery turned commercial in 1870 and is now headed by Moti Teperberg, the fifth generation. The winery's aim is to maintain the family heritage while integrating up to date technology and striving for quality. New grape varieties were introduced lately and a large team of winemakers was recruited, headed by senior vintner Shiki Rauchberger. The winery produces a wide range of well-crafted wines and offers good value for money; the high series is of very good quality.
