Segal Winery was founded by Yaakov Hirsch Segal in Babruysk Russia in the year of 1787. Segal began distilling spirits in Israel in 1925. The family's present day winery was established along with the state of Israel in 1948, harvesting grapes from the Ashkelon region and later from Ayalon Valley. The wines are now produced at the Barkan winery in Hulda, while most grapes come nowadays quality vineyards in the Upper Galilee. The wines are well crafted, starting from from the basic "Shel Segal" ("Segals'") series, through the Merom Galil and Rechasim series, up to the flagship Segal Unfiltered.
